Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the MyGuns website and your participation in courses, services, and bookings offered by MyGuns ("we", "us", or "our"), operated out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

2. Services

MyGuns provides firearms safety courses, hunting education, reloading instruction, and firearms-related services including but not limited to scope mounting, rifle cleaning, stock refinishing, and compound bow servicing. All courses and services are provided in accordance with applicable Canadian federal and provincial laws.

3. Course Registration and Bookings

  • All course bookings are made through our third-party booking provider (Bookeo) and are subject to availability.
  • By registering for a course, you confirm that you meet any age or prerequisite requirements as set out by the applicable certifying body (e.g., AHEIA, RCMP).
  • You are responsible for providing accurate and complete registration information.
  • Class sizes are limited. We reserve the right to decline enrolment if a class is full.

4. Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise specified.
  • All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable course materials unless stated otherwise.
  • Payment is processed securely through our booking provider. We do not store credit card information.

5. Cancellation, Refund, and Transfer Policy

  • Cancellation by us: We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or a date change at your request. We will make every effort to notify you in advance.
  • No-show / unattended classes: All courses are non-refundable if you fail to show up or do not attend.
  • Cancellation or transfer requests: To cancel or request a course transfer, you must email us at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time at gerard@myguns.ca. Refunds or transfers are subject to our approval and discretion.
  • Administrative fee: A $25 administrative fee applies to all approved changes or cancellations.

6. Course Conduct and Safety

  • All participants must follow the safety instructions provided by the instructor at all times.
  • Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair judgement or physical ability during any course or service.
  • We reserve the right to remove any participant from a course without refund if their behaviour poses a safety risk or disrupts the class.
  • Firearms and ammunition used during courses are provided by MyGuns unless otherwise arranged. Participants must not bring personal firearms or ammunition to class without prior written approval.

7. Certification and Examinations

  • Certification courses (CFSC, CRFSC, Hunter Education) require participants to pass both written and practical examinations as mandated by the certifying body.
  • Passing marks are set by the certifying body (e.g., 80% for CFSC/CRFSC, 70% for Hunter Education) and are not determined by MyGuns.
  • We do not guarantee that any participant will pass. Failure to achieve the required pass mark means the certification will not be issued.
  • Processing of licence applications (PAL/RPAL) is handled by the RCMP and is outside our control. We are not responsible for application processing times or outcomes.

8. Services and Repairs

  • All firearms and equipment brought in for servicing must be legally owned and properly documented.
  • We will provide an assessment before proceeding with any service work. By authorizing the work, you agree to the quoted price.
  • MyGuns is not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, or defects in firearms or equipment brought in for service.
  • Items left for service must be collected within 30 days of completion notification. We are not responsible for items left beyond this period.

9. Assumption of Risk

Participation in firearms courses and handling of firearms, ammunition, and related equipment involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury. By enrolling in a course or using our services, you acknowledge and accept these risks. You agree that MyGuns, its instructors, and staff are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation, except where caused by our gross negligence.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyGuns shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, courses, or services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific course or service giving rise to the claim.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the MyGuns website, including text, images, logos, and course materials, is the property of MyGuns and is protected by Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission.

12. Website Use

  • You agree not to use our website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the website.
  • We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party websites linked from our site.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.

13. Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
